BASIC PURPOSE
Troubleshoot and maintain thermoset molding presses and all molds for the area. Initiate and complete upgrades for the BMC area. Provide input into equipment use, specifications and purchase of new equipment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Troubleshoots molds, material, and press problems. Makes changes to molds, processes, and presses for better product and efficiency. Samples new material for BMC area. Assists in the design of new tools for the BMC area. Samples all new tools and make sure they meet standards. Maintains all presses and secondary equipment in BMC area. Researches and develops better molding technicians. Maintains 5S program. Maintains and writes work instructions for BMC area. Maintains TS16949 standards for BMC area. Updates mold build standards for BMC molds. Works with tool shops on development of molds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in technical field required; plastics-related field preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in thermoset molding with hands-on operation/optimization of presses. Basic computer skills. Good people skills, mechanical skills, and troubleshooting skills required.
