BASIC PURPOSE
Supports automotive plastic product development with injection molding process engineering experience and knowledge. Position is a combination of hands-on machine/process debug and technical engineering support. Must be able to start up and optimize complex injection molding machines and molds.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Supports the product design team through attendance of design reviews to provide input that ensures that product design is feasible and simplified for injection processes. Attends mold trials as primary technical support to operate equipment, debug, and optimize the injection proceses. Must be able to use DOE as a problem solving tool to eliminate or relocate flow lines, gas trapment, or other cosmetic issues while maintaining dimensional stability. Facilitate mold flow analysis, prototype development, and process design. Develop process control documentation, including work instructions, PFMEA, and process control parameters.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bchelor's degree required, preferably in a technical related field (plastics). Minimum of 5 years experiene with hands-on operation/optimization of injection processes. Exposure to automotive lighting or decorative/dimensionally sensitive injection molding preferred. Ability to balance complex project assignment priorities.
