BASIC PURPOSE
Responsible to develop new material technologies in the field of thermoplastic polymers and support internal and external customers on problem solving. Candidate must also have a working knowledge of molding, coating, associated assembly processes and analytical techniques to enhance automotive lighting which answer to quality, cost, and performance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Develop and implement technologies and materials into new lighting programs. Responsible for the management of material suppliers on technical advancements and act as a technical consultant for both internal and external customers. Must be familiar with analytical techniques used in the identification of material properties and problem resolution. Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and work well in groups.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors' degree in Engineering. Minimum of 4 years experience in materials development or related fields. Extensive knowledge in thermoplastic molding, welding, assembly, and coating processes would be highly desired. Position requires high degree of problem solving, communication, and leadership skills. Understanding of statistical process control, DOE, customer specifications, quality functions would be highly desired. Working knowledge of analytical equipment such as FT-IR, DSC, TGA, and DMA would be beneficial.
