BASIC PURPOSE
The Industrial Technical Director will report directly to the General Manager/President of Valeo Sylvania and will manage and provide technical support and expertise in implementing Valeo Production tools for the division in order to improve organizational results. This position will also be responsible for Thermoplastic and Thermoset Molding, Aluminization, Hardcoat, Flowcoat, Capacity Planning, Tooling Design, Molding and Coating Launch Management for the division.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Develops strategy for all technical aspects of the division and its production processes; ensures uptime and usability of tools and major equipment necessary for production. Anticipates current and future capacities of all production related equipment. Supports new product design and development activities for molding at the division level.- Ensures continuous improvement of the division (USA and Mexico) in line with VPS standards, monitoring industrial indicators, and managing division’s efficiencies.- Strives for improvement opportunities for the division in following areas: maintenance, methods efficiency, cost reduction of productive investment, logistics, etc. - Evaluates the production system against V5000 to ensure progress actions are coherent.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree in Material Science preferred. 10-15 years of progressively responsible industrial and/or manufacturing engineering management experience. - Prior experience with plastic injection molding required.- Commitment to Valeo Values.- Prior experience working with automotive manufacturers. - Prior leadership experience.- Knowledge of domestic and transplant OEMs.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Perfect knowledge of continuous improvement tools.- Multi lingual ability with emphases in Spanish or French beneficial, but not required.
