BASIC PURPOSE
Strategically, incumbent will be responsible for leveraging technical synergies
between Valeo Sylvania, Valeo Lighting Systems, and Ichikoh, further
integrating engineering into overall business planning and execution and
representing Valeo Sylvania as a technical expert throughout our customer base.
Incumbent will be in charge of coordination with Valeo and Ichikoh in
establishing strategic vision for R&D
- Technology Roadmap (TDP) to satisfy the needs of the automotive lighting market
- Long-term Strategy
- R&D efficiency Improvement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Establish Valeo Sylvania as the technology leader in the eyes of our customers. Will leverage the resources of the Alliance partners (Valeo Sylvania, Valeo Lighting Systems, Ichikoh) to accomplish the goals set forth by the customers with efficiency (speed) and cost effectiveness.
Will reinforce relationship with universities, key technology suppliers, and
regulatory bodies.
Will make sure that the core team managers communicate risks on programs
through the technical risk analysis matrix.
Will evaluate and provide necessary resources to support the program
organization.
Will manage core R&D disciplines to include: design, optics, systems,
simulation, laboratory, material & processes, feasibility, standardization and
prototypes.

Will manage warranty resolution through the use of QRQC, PDCA, and FTA methods.

Will conduct warranty resolution meetings with customers as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS Engineering, Master's degree in Engineering desired. Minimum 10-12
years progressively responsible engineering management experience. Prior
experience at working with automotive manufacturers. Proven leadership
abilities. Knowledge of domestic and transplant OEM's. Excellent oral and
written communication skills. Ability to motivate and influence others.
Ability to effectively lead a group of engineering managers and to establish
collaborative relations across all organizations within the company.
